44th Chess Olympiad 2022 - India
MILOS is proud to be able to share details of the 44th International Chess Olympiad, the world’s largest and most prestigious chess event held at Four Points By Sheraton in Chennai, India between the 28th of July to 9th August 2022. The opening ceremony of the Olympiad took place at the Jawaharlal Nehru Stadium in Chennai, India, on the 28th of July.
This truly astonishing project, which utilised the MILOS ground-support Truss (MR5 roof), was designed in conjunction with ‘Men at Work,’ our long-time partner.
The build itself used a gigantic 39m x 30m x 13m MILOS ground support truss constructed from M950 truss and MT3 towers. From this ground supported truss approximately 8500 kgs of load was suspended which consisted of intelligent and static lighting fixtures such as 375 LED pars, 50 LED washes, and 48 Pointes, a bright, super-fast parallel beam that cuts through the air and across video with ease,
49 Sharpy lights, a SHOWTEX high speed reveal roller mechanism, multiple spreader and sub-hang trusses - including 18 nos of 22,000 lumin BARCO projectors - were used to project the brilliant visuals shown at floor level.
